WAR & HATE FESTIVAL:
Borlänge is a small Swedish town that has become known for their annual "Peace & Love" festival. Finally some local scumbags organized "War & Hate". Those who are only into industrial sound will be disappointed... it is a two-day open-air festival with käng / crust / grind bands, then of course post-mortem havoc from Alfarmania. BOTTENSKRAPET:
We can finally announce the arrival of the Alfarmania picture-12" from Autarkeia. It contains two tracks, Hepatitsmittans hegemoni & Bottenskrapet, running-time is 32 minutes. MARK OF THE DEVIL:
This fiendish tape compilation has taken years to complete, but Hatband decided that the time was right for its release now when M.J. has been consumed by his own scar-tissue. Tribute to Mark David Chapman. Alfarmania contribute with a spoken word piece from 2005.

METZGER:
Our close friend and session member M. "Metzger" Forsberg, died on June 2nd 2009. He was a central figure in outlaw circles of Sundsvall and also active within power electronics scene since early 90s. Last appearance he did with Alfarmania was on new years eve 2008 (can be heard on "Alfarmania Knivmördar Sundsvall" tape). He was a true fanatic until the end whose deeds and work never will be forgotten. Mors certa, hora incerta! Farväl broder!

Private Edition invited eight swedish groups to participate on a compilation dealing with the 30 year anniversary of the Jonestown tragedy. White Nights is the definitive soundwork on this subject, celebrating the memory of the dead, Jonestown and the Elvis of sectleaders - Jim Jones.

Each participant was provided a copy of the so called "Death Tape" that was found in Jonestown after the killings / suicides and is said to be a recording of the last 45 minutes of their lives. The mission was to record 15 minutes of music with this source tape.

White Nights is a 4xC30 box in heavy vinyl with a 20 page booklet including miscellaneous documents related to the Peoples Temple, Jim Jones, and/or Jonestown, Guyana. Limited to 100 copies. Available (but not for long) from Segerhuva, Release the Bats, Hanson and Molehill.

the first overseas performance from ALFARMANIA took place in vilnius in the end of may. for this live action I was assisted by benny from the american noise unit BURN WARD. the set was built around some backing tapes, analogue synths, sheet metal, contact microphones, steel bolts, ammunition, pedals etc. a very intense performance took place on the concrete floor and it didn't end until my fists were bleeding and I was temporarily blinded from all the metal dust.

AUTARKEIA will release all performances at NAM2006 on dual-layer dvd in the end of the year... make sure to get this when it comes out.

NORDIC AUDIO MODERN 2006: MUSIC IN-BETWEEN WAR AND CULTURE.

AUTARKEIA organisation, promoting independent industrial subculture, invites everyone who is not indifferent to strong and deep music once again to cult military bunker VAULT in Vilnius (Subačiaus St 99) on the last Saturday of the Spring (27 May 2006). Major international industrial music festival in the Baltic region, NORDIC AUDIO MODERN, will be held for the third time here. This year, ten artists from both different European regions and the US will present their audio and video programmes in the military bunker. Industrial music fans will hear and see at the festival seven projects meaning seven different musical programmes representing versatile subtrends of industrial subculture. These are the names of power electronics: Sektion B from Germany, Survival Unit from Sweden, Fire In The Head from the US, harsh noise figure Burn Ward from the US, post-mortem pearl Alfarmania from Sweden, dark industrial/ death industrial artist Lithivm from Sweden and neocabaret star Ait! from Italy. This NORDIC AUDIO MODERN 2006 Festival is distinctive in two aspects. First of all, this year’s festival will present not the artists famous in the past, not cult figures with a baggage of gig and music experience but the rising industrial music stars with still unwasted potential, the stars whose performances are sought not only in the dusthole of East Europe or the third world but also in the rotting and crumbling West suffocating in the overstock. The artists scheduled to play in the third NORDIC AUDIO MODERN Festival happen to be in the zenith of their art and their performances are equally important for Vilnius, London or Paris. These are people who are actively creating art today unlike the artists showcasing the leftovers of their past, however glorious. Second, the programme of this year’s NORDIC AUDIO MODERN is dark and macabre like never before. Although the music of SEKTION B, SURVIVAL UNIT or FIRE IN THE HEAD qualifies as power electronics and reflect different traditions of this style, they have one feature in common that singles them out of the more traditional power electronics bands. And that common thing is that their live performances and albums are dominated not by straightforward sound attack of the audience but atmosphere and mood. The aim is not to frighten the audience but to manipulate their moods subtly and indirectly, thus, pushing them insensibly into the confrontation of horror. All three projects present stunning excellence of power electronics. Yet despite the fact that the tracks share one concept, that is, the bleakest aspects of social and general reality, the performers’ relations with these aspects are different and the music is unique. SURVIVAL UNIT is an exceptional teenage nihilism, a spit into the face of the system and the thirst for freedom confronting depressing global hell and vegetation on urban jungle. That is one man jihad against the fall of the West. SEKTION B unveils the nudity of the global conspiracy, exposes it and fumes with aggressive hatred towards it. FIRE IN THE HEAD presents darkly mental sufferings, languorous psychedelic states transformed into music. These three projects are characterised by music having esp. strong impact on the imagination. ALFARMANIA Project is classified as post-mortem trend, conveying all the dirt of urban ghetto, the degradation of the world, and the horror of madness, narco-pharmaceutical illusions and mental asylums not only through specific musical accords but through consciously chosen lo-fi music generation method. They make use of primitive electronic effects, hissing analogous tapes, old samples from low budget horror films and trash aesthetics. The same gloomy reality consisting of mental asylums and their inmates, remains of rusting mechanisms in derelict factories, oppression of hard-toiling people dictated by the mechanisms created by these same people, depressive karma of accidents, horror and disharmony is communicated in the music of Swedish artist Gustaf Hilderbrand in his music-mare LITHIVM. Actually, he uses much more refined sound aesthetics than is characteristic of post-mortem style. Here we have very technical, strong industrial/death industrial marked by powerful low vibration. Its suggestiveness can equal that of acclaimed Scandinavian names such as BRIGHTER DEATH NOW and MZ 412. LITHIVM is one of the brightest pearls of the golden age of Swedish label Cold Meat Industry, although it has only released one album, Threshold to Disharmony, under this name. Probably the major headliner of the festival will be the star of neocabaret, the latest industrial subculture, Tairy Ceron with his project AIT! from Italy. He describes his music as black/macabric lounge and by mixing the styles of industrial, lounge, black-folk, exoteric, experimental, ambient and retro he generates the atmosphere for quite a morbid cabaret. This music is characterised by very controversial emotions such as frightening romance, melancholy, sorrowful optimism, while its aesthetic side is best labelled fetishism. AIT! music is a subtly provoking game for the adults and the quest for weird and not always bright moods. The third NORDIC AUDIO MODERN festival will be opened by a short programme of BURN WARD, the American figure of harsh noise, while the breaks between the performances will be filled in by DJ Olivers from Latvia mixing a variety of industrial cocktails. During the longest breaks between the performances, the new DVD from the first NORDIC AUDIO MODERN festival will be demonstrated. It has been created by AUTARKEIA in cooperation with SEMEMA INDUSTRIAL, Latvian organisation promoting industrial music. Those searching for rarities and merchandise will have a chance to cater for their needs in the special store, while the hungry ones will have an opportunity to savour Armenian meals from a national Armenian restaurant located next to the military bunker. Famous figure of Swedish underground electronic music HKSO does not limit himself to SURVIVAL UNIT and also partakes in another musical project ALFARMANIA that may qualify as post-mortem in terms of its style and aesthetics. The prevailing feature of this power electronics/noise subtrend is maximal impact power drawing from noise generated with the help of primitive and inexpensive electronic devices and effects recorded using simple techniques. Hissing analogous tapes and trash aesthetics are inherent elements of this culture. This is conscious lo-fi best described as no-fidelity. Post-mortem is some kind of return to the roots of noise/power electronics culture. The main idea of ALFARMANIA project is pain and anger arising from living in unbearable urban poverty oppressed by ghetto weight and drug-induced oblivion. ALFARMANIA music is brimming with insanity, negative emotional charge and filthy technocratic dizziness crafted with low quality tools. ALFARMANIA music reveals claustrophobia syndrome among four walls of an asylum, the hell of chemical paradise and existential terror.
